Table Mountain is a flat-topped mountain forming a prominent landmark overlooking the city of Cape Town in South Africa. It is a significant tourist attraction, with many visitors using the cableway or hiking to the top.

Hiking up Table Mountain, Cape Town, South Africa

I recommend hiking up Table Mountain using the Platteklip Gorge route. Start your hike on the right side of Table Mountain's Aerial Cableway Station and follow the pathway up the mountain towards the first ridge, where you will find a contour path. Turn left at the contour path and make your way towards the Platteklip Gorge. The Platteklip Gorge is well sign posted. Make your way up the Gorge. The hike sould take you 1 hour and 45 minutes depending how fit you are. I recommend you take plenty of water with you on this hike. It is a tough steep walk, take breaks and enjoy the beautiful views. If the aerial cable car is working, you can catch a ride down.

The price for a one way ticket on the aerial cable car is ZAR 150 per person.
